Jessika has worked hard over the past 4 years to increase and diversify community engagement. From Mayor Walk and Rolls to meetings with the community around specific issues, she always listens. I believe we need to keep a diverse amount of public engagement to come up with creative solutions for our community and I will continue to work to make that happen.

It’s critical that we make every effort as our community responds to change and growth to offer as many diverse housing opportunities as possible. One of the core and critical elements of Durango’s character is that it’s a “real town” with a diverse and enriching spectrum of people and socio-economic realities. Developing creative ideas to avoid urban sprawl and keep a diverse range of housing options is a key goal of mine.

Jessika’s strong entrepreneurial experience as an employer and local business owner, has made her an advocate for small business. We need to keep our downtown full of successful businesses and restaurants. Additionally, we need to make opening and starting businesses here in Durango a great experience. This increases quality job opportunities for our community and generates economic growth.

Jessika is dedicated to Durango’s economic growth, public safety, regional cooperation, and senior services. We need to fund the things that drive job creation and diverse housing to make economic growth a reality. Putting resources into Economic Development and Housing Solutions has to be a priority.
